Hindi Summer Program
Hosting Location: India
Program Dates: Six to eight weeks, starting in mid- to late-June and ending in late July/early August
Class Hours: 120 hours
Accommodation: Host families
Academic program: The Hindi summer program will provide instruction on all four language skills, reading, writing, speaking and listening, but will focus on speaking and listening. Upon completion of the program students will be familiar with the Devanagari alphabet and possess an understanding of Hindi grammar and the different dialects of Hindi. The program will employ carefully designed learning activities, which will provide exposure to the rich culture of India, as well as opportunities to explore the cultural context of the language, including Indian crafts, music, and dance, not to mention yoga and Bollywood!
Good to know: Participants must be disciplined students of Hindi since English is so widely spoken in India.
